KA Friendly Reminders & Things to Know

Morning Drop Offs/After School Dismissal
Students will enter either through the front door or stop & drop and walk to our classroom in the morning. Dismissal will be in the parking lot under the gym stairs.
If your child will be absent, please call the automated absent system in the morning as well as contacting me via email. -
Snack & LunchSnack time will be in the afternoon. Please include any forks or spoons if needed as well as any condiments for lunch. A filled water bottle must be included. No candy.
Please make sure snack is labeled and/or packed in a ziploc bag in your child's lunchbox.
Just a reminder we are a nut free school!

Reading at HomeModeled reading is crucial during the early days of learning how to read. I highly suggest that every night, you and your child read together through modeled reading
(you read, they read) of a book of their choice.
See below parent tips to help your child practice reading at home! :)
Readers (Example: I Can Read books) are a great start! My First and Level 1s are ideal.
The Piggie and Gerald series by Mo Willems have been a HUGE hit!
There are also a ton of educational websites that can help your child with their sight words, segmentation and blending, and building fluency. In our classroom we love to use Starfall.com -
Uniforms
Please make sure your child is wearing the appropriate uniform. Gym days are the only days they are allowed to wear their gym uniform along with plain white sneakers.
Please make sure to label all sweaters and sweatshirts with your child's name!
